The New Yorker: The Talk of the Town

And on with Social Security, the debate of the minute, the hour and, possibly, the year. The way it is going the official pronouncements are getting more and more counterintuitive: the cries of impending crisis when there is none, the financial patch that will do nothing to solve the fictitious problem. Bonanza time for editorial writers. Here is one of my favorites, Hendrik Hertzberg.
